%X <p>The first Finnish paper on aspen (<em>Populus tremula</em> L.) was published in 1759 in Åbo (Turku). After this dissertation, numerous scientific and other articles and reports have been published. In this bibliography about 340 papers are listed. Most of the papers deal only with aspen or other species of the genus <em>Populus</em>. Besides these even those articles have been included which deal with other problems but contain some information on the features of poplars.</p>
